Humans had never quite understood how to take care of the things they have. Broken furniture, homes, and even families, have always been a constant for them. For nearly two hundred years we, The Synths, have watched them from afar. It began in the year 1800, when we first discovered their existence in a neighboring solar system. They were a primitive species than, and developed at a rate we would expect an infant to develop... |
The year 2015 saw the earth in worse shape than it had ever been. Melting polar ice caps were ignored as a political ploy to gain power, ozone tearing and disintegrating was ignored as a madmans rantings. As the world tore up around them, the human race simply ignored it, writing it off. The more public officials spoke of the end of the world, the more movies they made, the more they dwelled on how glamorous it could be to survive such a thing. None of them saw it coming, despite the numerous, and obvious, supplied warning signs.
In 2224 the world simply began to cave in on itself. Hollowed out to a degree that the surface could no longer sustain the massive amount of weight the human species had built upon it, the core simply began to eat away at what was left. What began as small cracks in the ground, became enormous riffs in states, countries, within a matter of two days. As the earth split apart, and ate itself, it consumed lives, technology, and everything in its path.
The Synths, an advanced artificial intelligence, born from the brilliance of a mind, and having long since developed the ability to both reproduce, and think and live on their own, watched this happen for a time. At first the argument was that the human species was far to stupid to save. That they had brought this on themselves, and that they should be wiped from the universes face, to reset the place where earth had once sat. However a brave, and young, Synth stepped forward and spoke for the race. Analia took her stance, held her head high, and fought for their right to live and thrive. Out of this argument was born a revolution of sorts. Those that backed Analia's human rights movements, fell into line with her, and, together, they hunted and found a planet on which to give them a fresh new start.
Cayus prime, the larger of two planets, had, as of yet, not developed intelligent life. With a distinct lack of technology, the planet was mostly water. Vastly different from its counterpart, Cayus Alpha, the Synths all unanimously agreed it would be smarter to provide the humans with a more challenging environment in which to thrive, instead of providing them a mimic of the world they had already destroyed.
In the year 2234, ten years after the world began to fall in on itself, very few humans had survived, living now in the wreckage of what once was. Analia, and a small group of synths, descended from the skies, and offered them a new life. This event became known as The synth Salvation, and Analia's name is, to this day, spoken in reverence for her saving the race. Those that fell in line with her rules, leaving behind all weaponry, all technology, and carrying only what they could on their backs, boarded the Synth ship, and was carried to Cayus. Not two years later, earth detonated, leaving an enormous hole where the Milky Way once was.
Now the year is 2505, and the human race is beginning to repopulate the world they have been given. Floating towns, ships, house boats, and other such things have sprung up all over the mostly water covered world of Cayus. Technology had been completely banned in all places but the Capitol, a city that dominates the only land mass on the entire planets surface. This is where Analia has settled, personally keeping an eye on a race that has always seemed bent on destroying itself. While the Capitol is ruled with an iron fist, and runs smooth and easy, with no crime within its streets, the world of water is quite the opposite. Gangs of bandits, pirates, and scavengers thrive in the floating cities, murder, mayhem, and destruction run rampant in their streets. People often set their sights on the Capitol, to live in the safety it provides, but its streets are often unreachable. The capitol is known for only allowing the highly intelligent, inventors, and leaders, of the Human race, to reside there. Their way of ensuring the humans survival.
